Illness and Urgent Care Services

We want the best lives for our pets, but when something unexpected happens, they don’t always know how to tell us something is wrong. Whether your pet has an accident, infection, or illness, sometimes a trip to the vet is necessary for extra care. At Delaware Valley Veterinary Hospital, our expertly trained team is ready to step in to figure out how best to help. Our diagnostics lab gives us all the tools we need to figure out what’s going on, and if needed, our surgery suite is available to help.

Your concern is our concern, and we are here to help you and your furry family.

These symptoms might warrant an Urgent Care visit:

  • Vomiting/Diarrhea
  • Either not eating or a change in food or water intake
  • Drinking more or less
  • Change in urine color/frequency/amount
  • Lethargy
  • Acting painful, vocalizing, shaking, panting
  • Constantly sneezing or coughing
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Wounds or lacerations
  • Broken nails
  • Allergic reactions
  • Infection or fever
  • Lameness or limping

Trust Your Gut!

You know your pet better than anyone else. It is important to not wait to get medical help when intervention is needed. If something is wrong, we can do the sleuthing so you don’t have to.

We have a doctor on call for after hours emergencies:

  • Monday–Friday: 8 p.m.–10 p.m.
  • Saturday: 1 p.m.–8 p.m.
  • Sunday: 1 p.m.–4 p.m.

After our hospital is closed, we have a triage service through GuardianVets that can assess your pet over the phone and help determine if they are stable to wait for an urgent care visit in the morning, or if they should receive immediate emergency care. Call our main hospital number at (856) 241-1100 to reach a licensed veterinarian or certified veterinary technician who can help afterhours.

You are not alone! If you have questions, or want to schedule an appointment with us, please call us.
